Good afternoon! The location of our free lunch service is moving effective immediately.
WE will still be serving lunches on Tuesday and Friday from 12-2. However, the location will now be at the Lyons Park in Mt. Vernon.
Thanks everyone!

Just read the article in Skagit Breaking. I grew up in the Seattle Area, and refuse to go there now… We are SOMEWHAT isloated here but as you say, the homeless cancer is starting to root, and we as a community don’t have to let it metasticize. We have 5 kids all grown. One was addicted and homeless at one point. But ALL of them have good jobs are good people but 4 of them cannot afford to find a place to live on their own. So… we have a lot of people living here, luckily we have the room to do that. I also was homeless at one time in my life. I HATE the word CHOICE, it makes my skin crawl. That Tough “love” (HATE) attitude is just the complacency and jading that blames the patient for the illness why Seattle has the problem it does. My mom lives in Ballard. I suggested to her to call 911 when she saw someone appearing to OD. The dispatcher completely ignored her. Anyhow Thank you for trying to preserve our little piece of Heaven up here in Skagit and Island. I keep wondering what I could really do to help that would be valueable without getting in over my head. That’s easy to do as I have PTSD. I hope that woman and her kids have found a place to stay. If you can give me some ideas how I can help when you have time that would be great. Thank you. Jean
