Hello everyone! I have been extremely overwhelmed lately in my endeavors, to say the least.
What started out as a small quest to help others has evolved into a full time job! Lol. And for that, I am grateful!
Lunch is now being served twice a week for 4 hours total and we are serving approximately 50-60 individuals per day.
This is not an easy task, nor is it without barriers. Every Monday and Thursday night I begin prepping for the following days lunch and usually fall asleep between 2-3am. I sleep until 5am and begin cooking.
I am not complaining. I am not ungrateful. I am eager to do so each time. Each week the numbers grow. This is why I do this. To help offer some form of hope or comfort to those in need.
Lately, there has been alot of help by other community members that we have received.
It is routine at this point to be approached by another community citizen asking how they might be able to help. Without fail there are 10-13 passer-by’s who stop just to say “Thank you”. This is solid proof that others want to help. Truth is, they likely just don’t know “how”. The fact that they do, is comforting not only to me, but to those we are trying to help.
With that said, I want to thank this last week’s neighbors who offered a helping hand in one way or another. WE ARE GRATEFUL AND WE ARE APPRECIATIVE OF YOUR KINDNESS!
