Mr. Prezident’e….

So does anyone remember that bill that passed a couple years ago called “The Support For Patients and Communities Act”? You know the one which followed Trump’s “Emergency Opioid Epidemic” declaration? Basically, it was supposed to provide better access to treatment facilities and better regulate the easy access to prescription pain killers (such as Oxycontin) and provide easier access to the Naloxone shot (the opioid overdose antidote which  Amazon currently sells a trainer kit for $42.99).

So here we are nearly 3 months into 2019 and I just wanna know “WHERE THE HELL IS ALL THIS SO CALLED HELP WE WERE PROMISED MR. PRESIDENT”? Because I am certain that Naloxone Trainer Kit from Amazon is of little use when you have to fill out a form to give to the Pharmacy to allow (on a Standing Order regulated state by state) you to receive one nasal injection dose of Naloxone. Not done there however, because THEN the Pharmacist will ask you “Will you be paying with Insurance or Cash?”. Is the access any easier since the aforementioned ACT was enacted (By the way, one of the uses of the word “en” as in “en-acted” is upon, on top of inside of, etc). So, perhaps someone simply forgot to act upon it after trump signed it. Because surely, if those alleged funds (about 3 billion dollars) were allocated appropriately, we would see treatment facilities popping up all over and someone needing and WANTING help would be able to be admitted, right?

WRONG. We have an epidemic. The President said so. We have a homeless crisis. The President mostly acknowledged it. We have not seen any change. There will have been in excess of 700,000 deaths by the end of 2019 as a result of this epidemic. Yet, still no help. I am certified to administer Naloxone and to educate others on how to use it. But I cant get it unless I go to the Needle Exchange. That’s pretty messed up.

Maybe the government will look into it, right after that wall is built and the death penalty crisis is handled. No worries, we’ve got all the time in the world. It’s not like it’s killing our nation or anything.
